Energy storage environments combine high DC currents, thermal sensitivity, and evolving safety codes into one of the most demanding electrical distribution challenges.
DC Distribution at Scale
Battery systems operate at DC voltages and currents that don't follow the same design rules as AC distribution. Conductor sizing, fault protection, and switching all require DC-specific engineering. Standard AC busway doesn't address DC arc characteristics or interrupting requirements.
Thermal Management in Enclosed Spaces
Battery containers and BESS buildings generate significant heat from both charging/discharging cycles and power conversion. Distribution systems must operate reliably in elevated ambient temperatures without derating below required capacity.
